About George

I visited the litter each week. The six hours of driving for one hour of puppy time was the highlight of my week. George was the smallest male with the softest temperament. It didn’t take long for my heart to pick George, and he joined our family on October 31, 2013.

I had worried that George might grow up in Norm’s shadow, but nothing was further from the truth. George was a character, unique in his own right.

He adored his “big brother”, Wally. Watching the two play was a riot. George would somersault and let Wally pin him to the ground. With a 140 lb advantage, he was cautious not to harm or flatten his playmate.

George’s favourite delicacy was a brioche bun or croissant. He was a true connoisseur of carbs. He did not like whole wheat or whole grain. He would turn his nose up a ciabatta or any crusty bread. He preferred his bun plain or lightly buttered. He was a purist and did not like cheese or meat with his carbs. In George’s ideal world, he would have been a carbivore.

When he wasn’t eating, he was sleeping. George loved to sleep with us. He was a notorious bed hog and blanket thief. He occupied half of our king-size bed and claimed my pillow as his own or alternatively used one of us as a pillow. As much as I complained, I loved sharing the bed with George.

George was incredibly affectionate and absolutely hilarious.
